Role Overview
The Housekeeping & Maintenance Manager is responsible for all housekeeping and cleanliness standards across Heritage Boutique Hotel and supported villa services, ensuring that every room and public area meets luxury presentation standards at all times. In addition, the role oversees technical maintenance and preventive care of the property to ensure safe, well-functioning facilities. This role plays a key part in the pre-opening phase, setting up housekeeping systems, staffing structures and quality standards, and continues to drive operational excellence after opening in close collaboration with the General Manager and leadership team.
Key Responsibilities
Lead all housekeeping operations for guest rooms, villas and public areas
Set and maintain luxury cleanliness and room presentation standards
Establish inspection routines, room checks and quality control systems
Manage daily room turnover, deep cleaning schedules and special cleaning programs
Lead pre-opening setup including SOPs, room setup standards, staffing plans and soft opening execution
Train housekeeping teams on service attitude, attention to detail and efficiency
Recruit, train and develop housekeeping and maintenance teams in collaboration with HR
Manage linen handling, room supplies, amenities and cleaning inventory
Control housekeeping budgets, purchasing and chemical usage
Coordinate closely with Front Office to ensure accurate room status and readiness
Handle guest-related cleanliness issues and special requests with urgency and professionalism
Oversee maintenance response and coordinate technical repairs and vendor support
Implement preventive maintenance programs and basic asset tracking
Monitor building systems including plumbing, electrical, pools and water systems
Ensure safety standards, chemical handling procedures and emergency protocols are followed
Prepare departmental reports and contribute to leadership meetings and planning
Requirements
Degree or diploma in Hospitality Management or related field is preferred
Proven experience as Housekeeping Manager or similar role in a hotel or villa operation
Pre-opening experience is a strong advantage
Strong knowledge of luxury housekeeping standards and quality control procedures
Experience managing room attendants, public area teams and supervisors
Good understanding of basic maintenance coordination and preventive maintenance planning
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage large cleaning operations efficiently
Proven leadership skills with the ability to build disciplined and motivated teams
Hands-on mindset and strong eye for detail
Fluent in English and Bahasa Indonesia
