Job Description

As a Director, you will serve as a trusted advisor to senior executives, Boards, policymakers and investors in Indonesia's healthcare sector. You will lead end‑to‑end strategy and financing engagements, shape market‑relevant offerings, and drive business growth in Indonesia. You will bring strong healthcare financing, strategy, economics and investment expertise—combined with deep understanding of Indonesia's healthcare system, regulatory environment, market dynamics and stakeholder landscape.

This role has clear expectations across engagement leadership, market development, client relationship management, thought leadership, and practice building.

What you will do:

Client Engagement & Delivery Leadership

  • Lead the design and execution of complex healthcare strategy and financing engagements across Indonesia.
  • Develop strategies and digital transformation for healthcare systems, hospitals, payers, and investors that incorporate:
  • Healthcare financing and funding model design (e.g., BPJS, JKN evolution, blended financing).
  • Provider financial sustainability and performance improvement.
  • Investment cases, business cases, economic and feasibility studies.
  • Tech Implementation experience
  • Policy and regulatory analysis relevant to Indonesia's health sector.
  • Serve as senior client interface for government, private sector, and investor stakeholders.
  • Deliver high‑quality, decision‑ready insights that integrate financial, clinical, regulatory, and policy perspectives.

Healthcare Financing, Economics & Investment Focus

  • Advise clients on financing and health‑economic issues, including:
  • Health system funding reform and JKN‑related financing implications.
  • Provider reimbursement, pricing and payment models (DRG, capitation, value‑based care).
  • PPP structuring, value‑for‑money assessments and infrastructure investment cases.
  • Economic and financial feasibility for hospitals, digital health, diagnostics, medtech and life sciences investments.
  • Integrate cost‑effectiveness, financial modelling, and economic analysis into strategic recommendations.
  • Collaborate with KPMG teams across ASEAN and globally to deliver integrated, multi‑disciplinary solutions.

Market Development & Leadership (Indonesia Focus)

  • Drive business development for Indonesia across public, private and investor segments.
  • Originate, shape and close opportunities in:
  • Healthcare providers (hospital groups, diagnostics, pharmacy chains).
  • Health insurance, BPJS‑related programs, and payer models.
  • Life sciences and medtech market entry and channel expansion.
  • Investors (PE, sovereign funds, conglomerates) exploring healthcare assets.
  • Position KPMG as a leading advisor on Indonesia's healthcare strategy and financing landscape.
  • Represent the firm at key market events, Ministerial and agency roundtables, industry forums and publications.

Team Leadership & Practice Development

  • Lead, coach and develop project teams across Singapore and Indonesia.
  • Set quality standards and ensure consistent delivery excellence.
  • Contribute to building specialised tools, methodologies and market offerings for Indonesia.
  • Mentor Managers and Associate Directors to build Indonesia‑focused capabilities in healthcare strategy and financing.

Desired skills & experience:

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in healthcare strategy, healthcare financing, health economics, investment advisory, or related fields.
  • Demonstrated leadership of large, complex engagements with senior‑level stakeholders.
  • Strong experience in healthcare financing, funding models, or economic/financial advisory (Indonesia preferred).
  • Proven ability to build and manage senior relationships with policymakers, CEOs, Boards, investors, and regulators.
  • Strong understanding of: Indonesia's healthcare system, BPJS/JKN landscape, provider market dynamics; Regulatory environment, investment rules, and health sector policies.
  • Excellent analytical, communication and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to operate in cross‑border settings and lead teams across ASEAN.
  • Preferably experience in: Provider strategy, transformation or turnaround, Health system reform, policy advisory or government programs, Healthcare PPPs, infrastructure financing, public investment projects, Deep experience in Digital Transformation implementation experience such as ERP, Procurement, Supply Chain, Analytics etc., Market entry and commercial strategy for life sciences/medtech in Indonesia.
  • Prior experience in Big 4, strategy consulting, or specialist healthcare advisory are an advantage.
  • Postgraduate qualifications (MBA, MPH, MPA, Health Economics, Finance) are an advantage
