The Head of Strategic Planning and Partnerships leads Tanoto Foundation Indonesia's strategy, business intelligence, and strategic partnerships agenda.

This role provides senior leadership with clear, data-driven insights to guide portfolio decisions, identifies emerging trends and risks in the education and development landscape, and builds high-value partnerships that advance Tanoto Foundation's mission and positioning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead country-level strategic planning and portfolio reviews, aligned with Tanoto Foundation's global strategy.
  • Translate data, research, and sector intelligence into clear strategic recommendations for senior leadership.
  • Oversee business intelligence, sector landscaping, thematic analysis, and research synthesis.
  • Work closely with Monitoring, Learning and Evaluation (MLE) to strengthen Tanoto Foundation as a learning organization.
  • Identify, develop, and manage strategic partnerships with government, development partners, philanthropy networks, and research institutions.
  • Support thought leadership, policy engagement, and strategic communications in collaboration with internal teams.
  • Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team covering strategy, partnerships, and intelligence and insights.

Requirement

  • 15+ years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership or people-management role.
  • Master's degree in education, public policy, development studies, economics, or a related field.
  • Strong background in education, philanthropy, development agencies, or multilateral organizations.
  • Proven track record in strategic planning, research, or portfolio-level analysis.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Strong understanding of Indonesia's education and development landscape.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken); fluent in Bahasa Indonesia.
