Job Description

This position will be responsible for Procurement Strategy & Governance, Vendor Management & Commercial Leadership, Capital Projects, Commercial Risk, and Continuous Improvement.

  • Develop, implement, and continually refine an enterprisewide Procurement & Tender Strategy aligned with the school's longterm goals.
  • Establish and enforce rigorous governance frameworks that ensure transparency, defensibility, and compliance with internal policies and local regulations.
  • Serve as the final escalation point for procurement exceptions, disputes, and material commercial risks.
  • Design and lead a comprehensive Vendor Management Framework, including supplier segmentation, performance oversight, and risk evaluation.
  • Lead highvalue negotiations, market engagement, and strategic sourcing initiatives to strengthen resilience and commercial outcomes.
  • Manage relationships with strategic, critical, and highrisk vendors to ensure performance and alignment with organisational expectations.
  • Partner with crossfunctional teams (Finance, Legal, Property, Projects) to optimise risk allocation, contractual structures, and lifecycle value.
  • Support complex tender evaluations, ensuring balanced decisions across cost, quality, risk, sustainability, and longterm resilience.
  • Act as a strategic advisor to senior leadership and governance committees on commercial matters.
  • Produce highquality executivelevel reporting, insights, and risk assessments that inform strategic decisionmaking.
  • Enhance procurement systems, analytics, reporting capabilities, and digital tools.
  • Embed bestpractice procurement culture and bring external market intelligence into the organisation.
  • Uphold safeguarding, compliance, health & safety, and data protection standards across all procurement operations.

The Successful Applicant


Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, Economics, Management, or related field. Master Degree is preferred.
  • 20+ years of senior procurement or commercial leadership experience within complex, multistakeholder organisations.
  • Proven track record in enterprise procurement strategy, governance frameworks, and vendor management models.
  • Deep experience managing highvalue, longterm contracts across construction, infrastructure, and professional services.
  • Strong commercial judgement and the ability to operate with credibility at Executive and Board levels.
  • High integrity with demonstrated experience in ethical procurement, anticorruption, and compliancedriven environments.
  • Advanced analytical, digital, and reporting capabilities, with strong communication skills.
  • Experience in major capital projects, regulated sectors, or complex vendor ecosystems.
