Job Purpose
The Head of Master Planning is responsible for leading the conceptualization, design, and implementation of master plans for large-scale developments. Leveraging expertise in urban and town planning, this role ensures that land use, infrastructure, and community needs are integrated into sustainable, innovative, and commercially viable development strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee master planning strategies for new townships, mixed-use developments, and urban renewal projects.
- Conduct land use studies, site analysis, and feasibility assessments to guide planning decisions.
- Ensure alignment of master plans with government regulations, zoning requirements, and urban development policies.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, environmental consultants, and government authorities to create integrated planning solutions.
- Lead stakeholder engagement, including government bodies, community representatives, and investors.
- Monitor urban design quality, sustainability principles, and infrastructure integration in all planning activities.
- Provide input on phasing strategies, land value optimization, and development timelines.
- Review and evaluate design proposals, planning submissions, and technical reports.
- Keep abreast of urban development trends, smart city concepts, and sustainable planning practices.
- Lead, mentor, and build capacity within the master planning team.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Urban Planning, Town Planning, Architecture, or related field.
- Professional certification (e.g., IAP, RTPI, PIA, or equivalent) preferred.
- 1015 years of experience in town planning, master planning, or large-scale urban development.
- Strong understanding of zoning, regulatory frameworks, and land development processes.
- Proven track record in leading township/mixed-use development projects.
- Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and communication skills.
