The Head of Payment Gateway is responsible for driving the revenue growth and market expansion of the company's payment acquiring business. This role focuses on business development, strategic partnerships, and sales execution while working closely with internal teams to ensure operational efficiency, compliance adherence, and technological advancements.
- Develop and execute go-to-market strategies to drive merchant adoption and transaction volume.
- Identify and acquire key payment acceptance channels, including Payment Facilitators (PayFac) and Third-Party Acquirers (TPA), ensuring commercial viability and compliance.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with merchants, financial institutions, and ecosystem partners to enhance business opportunities.
- Identify and capitalize on market opportunities, both intrinsic (internal growth potential) and extrinsic (industry trends and competitive landscape).
- Define pricing models, sales targets, and revenue growth strategies to position the payment gateway as a market leader.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including product, technology, and marketing, to enhance offerings based on market demand.
- Work closely with the Risk & Compliance team to ensure the payment gateway operates within regulatory and payment scheme requirements.
- Lead negotiations and commercial discussions with acquiring banks, payment schemes, and fintech partners to expand capabilities and enhance competitiveness.
- Develop and execute marketing initiatives, including sales materials, campaigns, and merchant engagement activities.
- Provide leadership in structuring sales teams, processes, and key performance metrics to drive merchant acquisition and retention.
- Oversee the operational efficiency of payment acceptance processes, ensuring smooth onboarding, underwriting, and risk monitoring in collaboration with relevant teams.
- Align technology roadmap and payment gateway enhancements with industry trends and company objectives, working closely with product and R&D teams.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree (& above) with excellent graduation grade in Business management/International business/Finance & Banking/Economic/Accounting.
- Proven experience in payment acquiring, merchant acquiring, or fintech sales leadership.
- Strong network and relationships with payment partners, merchants, and financial institutions.
- Deep understanding of payment gateway technologies, pricing models, and industry trends.
- Ability to drive revenue growth while balancing compliance and risk considerations.
- More than 10 years experience in Fintech industry

- Owned & manage P&L for a company or business portfolio
- Extensive knowledges on acquiring/payments operation as in a whole, including compliance aspects.
- In depth technical knowledge/logic for the payments processing
- Well verse with merchant market & acquiring space in SEA & South Asia
