Role Overview
We are looking for a Head of Operations to lead the operational performance of a fast-growing specialty retail business. This role is responsible for ensuring consistent execution across stores, driving sales productivity, strengthening operational discipline, and building a strong retail leadership pipeline.
The position requires a balance of strategic thinking and strong field execution, with close involvement in store operations and people leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Excellence
- Ensure all stores operate in line with company standards, policies, and commercial objectives.
- Maintain consistent execution of store operations across locations through regular reviews and on-site engagement.
- Identify operational risks and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency and compliance.
Sales & Performance Management
- Translate business targets into clear operational priorities for retail teams.
- Monitor sales performance, productivity, and key operational KPIs.
- Partner with commercial teams to support campaigns, promotions, and peak trading periods.
People & Leadership
- Lead and develop retail leadership teams to drive accountability and performance.
- Build a strong coaching culture focused on execution, customer experience, and results.
- Oversee workforce planning, talent development, and succession readiness.
Customer Experience & Brand Execution
- Ensure consistent customer experience and brand presentation across all stores.
- Oversee in-store execution of visual, promotional, and service standards.
- Actively raise operational standards that support repeat customers and brand loyalty.
Inventory & Store Readiness
- Ensure stores are commercially ready through effective stock availability and store preparedness.
- Work closely with supply chain and merchandising teams to support sell-through and minimize operational disruptions.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Partner with cross-functional teams to align operations with business priorities.
- Provide structured reporting and insights to senior management to support decision-making.
Requirements
- Strong background in multi-store retail operations, preferably within specialty or lifestyle retail.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing large retail teams.
- Proven ability to drive sales performance through operational execution.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
