Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Leadership: Define and own backend architecture strategy for scalable, secure, and resilient financial platforms.
- Team Management: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing backend engineering team across multiple geographies.
- Innovation & Delivery: Drive adoption of modern engineering practices (microservices, event-driven architecture, CI/CD, cloud deployments).
- Collaboration: Partner with product, security, and infrastructure teams to deliver robust solutions aligned with business goals.
- Performance Optimization: Ensure backend systems meet stringent SLAs for latency, throughput, and reliability.
- Compliance & Security: Embed best practices for data security and regulatory compliance in all backend solutions.
The Successful Applicant
Ideal Candidate
- Experience:
- 15+ years in backend engineering, with at least 7+ years in leadership roles.
- Proven track record in designing and scaling distributed systems for high-volume financial or transactional platforms.
- Technical Expertise:
- Advanced proficiency in Golang and Java.
- Strong knowledge of microservices, API design, and event-driven architectures.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and container orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Leadership Skills:
- Ability to inspire and lead diverse engineering teams.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Bonus:
- Exposure to fintech, banking, or payment systems.
- Familiarity with security standards (PCI DSS, ISO 27001).
