Job Description

We are seeking a commercially driven and strategic Head of Business Development to lead our expansion into new product lines and partnerships in the Medical Devices distribution space. A core focus of this role is identifying and securing exclusive partnerships with manufacturers, especially from China, and expanding distribution networks across target regions.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong existing network within the Chinese medical device manufacturing ecosystem, be fluent in Mandarin, and have deep expertise in navigating B2B healthcare and distribution landscapes.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Growth & New Business

  • Identify, evaluate, and secure new manufacturer partnerships, especially in China, to expand the product portfolio.
  • Develop and execute market entry strategies for new product categories or territories.
  • Create business cases, ROI projections, and go-to-market plans for new ventures.

China Partnership Development

  • Leverage existing networks in China's medical device industry to source high-quality, innovative, and regulatory-compliant products.
  • Lead negotiations with Chinese manufacturers and ensure alignment on commercial terms, exclusivity, and distribution rights.
  • Build long-term, trust-based relationships with key decision-makers in China.

Sales & Distribution Channel Expansion

  • Identify and develop new sales channels and client segments
  • Collaborate with supply chain and regulatory teams to ensure seamless onboarding of new suppliers and products.

Commercial & Market Intelligence

  • Monitor competitive landscape and market trends in the medical devices space, both regionally and globally.
  • Evaluate the commercial viability of new product lines and recommend pricing, positioning, and distribution models.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in business development, international partnerships, or distribution within the medical devices or healthcare industry.
  • Fluent in Mandarin.
  • Strong network of manufacturers and decision-makers in Chinas medical device industry.
  • Proven track record of closing distribution or licensing deals in the healthcare sector.
  • Deep understanding of regulatory, quality, and compliance standards.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and cross-cultural relationship-building skills.
