GIS Mapping Specialist
Star Energy Geothermal, Indonesia's leading geothermal energy company, is seeking a GIS Mapping Specialist to support land development and infrastructure planning across our strategic projects. This role plays a critical part in enabling data-driven land analysis, supporting infrastructure planning, and ensuring accuracy in spatial mapping within complex project environments.
Role Summary
The GIS Mapping Specialist will be responsible for developing and managing geospatial data related to land boundaries, infrastructure corridors, and land-use classifications.
The role partners closely with land, engineering, and project teams to provide accurate mapping, analysis, and insights that support effective project planning and execution.
Key Responsibilities
1. GIS Mapping & Spatial Analysis
- Perform GIS coordinate mapping for various land types and boundaries
- Overlay land data with proposed infrastructure corridors and locations
- Identify land classifications and intersections with infrastructure layouts
2. Data Management & Validation
- Establish GIS protocols, coordinate systems, and mapping standards
- Import, integrate, and validate data from multiple sources, including:
- Private land ownership and boundaries
- Plantation and forestry areas
- Registered easements
- Satellite imagery and topographic data
- Infrastructure shapefiles
- Ensure high accuracy, consistency, and reliability of all geospatial data
3. Technical Collaboration
- Work closely with land and technical teams to:
- Identify constraints and no-go areas
- Highlight risks related to land features or easements
- Provide spatial insights to support project feasibility and decision-making
4. Reporting & Analysis
- Conduct land area analysis by type and classification
- Prepare structured reports and mapping outputs for stakeholder review
Skills & Experience
- Advanced proficiency in GIS (ArcGIS or equivalent mapping software)
- Minimum 3 years of GIS mapping experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in land, permitting, approvals, or development-related roles
- Experience in land acquisition or land team environments is an advantage
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams

- GIS software license will be provided by the Company
- The selected candidate will be required to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) due to the confidential nature of project data
