The Food Strategist is responsible for driving menu strategy and product optimization within the F&B business. This role combines data-driven decision-making, market trend analysis, and brand alignment to develop compelling menu offerings that enhance sales performance and customer experience.
Working under the Marketing Department, the Food Strategist collaborates cross-functionally with Product Development, Supply Chain, and Operations to ensure that menu innovations are commercially viable, operationally efficient, and aligned with the brand's identity.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Menu Strategy & Development
- Develop and propose menu strategies based on sales performance, customer insights, and market trends
- Ensure all menu offerings align with brand DNA and positioning
- Optimize product mix (core items, seasonal offerings, limited-time offers)
2. Sales & Performance Analysis
- Analyze sales data, product performance, and profitability metrics
- Identify high-performing and underperforming items and recommend actions
- Forecast trends and demand for future menu planning
3. Trend & Market Intelligence
- Monitor F&B trends (local and global), consumer preferences, and competitor activity
- Translate insights into actionable menu concepts and campaigns
- Identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation
4. Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work with Product Development to translate concepts into executable menu items
- Coordinate with Supply Chain to ensure ingredient availability and cost efficiency
- Partner with Operations to ensure feasibility and consistency across outlets
- Collaborate with Marketing to support campaigns, launches, and promotions
5. Brand Alignment & Innovation
- Ensure all menu initiatives reflect the brand's identity, values, and target audience
- Contribute to long-term brand strategy through menu direction
- Lead ideation for seasonal campaigns and new product launches
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts, or related field
- 3–5+ years of experience in F&B, merchandising, category management, or menu planning
- Strong analytical background with experience in sales and performance data
- Experience working in cross-functional teams
- Understanding of F&B operations and supply chain dynamics is a plus
