Seven Clean Seas is an ocean impact organisation dedicated to preventing ocean plastic pollution on a global scale. Founded in 2019 after a grassroots movement in Singapore, we implement plastic recovery projects that both clean the environment and provide fair employment opportunities in heavily polluted coastal regions. Operating in Indonesia and Thailand, we have removed over 7 million kilograms of waste from the environment and impacted more than 18,000 lives through education and sustainability initiatives. Our mission is to achieve plastic-free oceans by removing 100 million kilograms of plastic and improving 200,000 lives by 2030.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Financial Controller, based in Bali. The Financial Controller will oversee financial statements, accounting processes, and financial reporting. Responsibilities include managing budgets, analysing financial data, ensuring regulatory compliance, preparing reports for stakeholders, and contributing to strategic financial planning. The role requires active collaboration with internal teams to align financial operations with organisational goals.

Key Responsabilities

Financial Reporting & Compliance

• Oversee preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Ensure compliance with GAAP/IFRS and local regulations
• Maintain accurate and timely financial close processes

Audit & Risk Management

• Lead and manage external and internal audits
• Liaise with auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies
• Strengthen internal controls and ensure audit readiness

Financial Planning & Analysis

• Lead budgeting and forecasting processes
• Monitor performance and provide actionable insights
• Support strategic planning and business decision-making

Accounting Operations

• Oversee AR, AP, GL, payroll, and revenue recognition
• Maintain and improve financial systems and processes

Cash & Treasury Management

• Manage cash flow, liquidity, and banking relationships
• Ensure financial stability and effective working capital management

Team Leadership

• Lead and develop the finance team
• Set clear objectives and ensure high performance

Executive Reporting

• Provide clear and concise financial reporting to the CEO
• Support leadership with data-driven recommendations

Qualifications

• Expertise in preparing and analysing Financial Statements and reports
• Strong Analytical Skills and a deep understanding of Finance principles
• Experience managing audits and multi-entity structures
• Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
• Familiarity with financial regulations and compliance standards
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (advanced qualifications like CPA or ACCA are advantageous)
• 10+ years of progressive experience, including leadership roles
• Ability to work collaboratively in an on-site environment
