About AGL Indonesia
AGL Indonesia (AGLI/ASI) is part of the AGL/MSC Group, operating across freight forwarding, container trucking, warehousing, and shipping agency activities, with operations centered around Patimban Port in West Java. As the Company scales, we are building a finance function capable of supporting a fast-moving, multi-entity logistics business.
Job Purpose
The Financial Supervisor is responsible for supervising the Company's day-to-day accounting, financial reporting, and tax compliance activities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance across all operating entities.
Given the nature of the business, prior experience in the logistics sector — freight forwarding, trucking, warehousing, or shipping agency — is expected from the outset. The role requires an understanding of industry-specific revenue and cost flows (freight billing, advance payments, port and trucking charges) from day one, rather than being learned on the job.
This role operates within a growing logistics platform spanning freight forwarding, trucking, warehousing, and shipping agency activities. The Financial Supervisor directly reviews and supervises the work of accounting and tax staff, ensuring transactions are recorded correctly and obligations are met on time, while escalating material issues to the Finance, Accounting & Tax Manager.
The position combines hands-on review of daily finance activities with responsibility for coaching and developing junior team members, and for helping strengthen the finance processes and controls that support the Company's growth.
Key Responsibilities
1. Accounting & Financial Reporting Supervision
• Supervise day-to-day accounting operations (AP, AR, general ledger, bank reconciliation) performed by the team.
• Review journal entries, accruals, adjustments, and reconciliations prepared by accounting staff before posting.
• Supervise the month-end and year-end closing process and support preparation of financial statements in compliance with PSAK.
• Help maintain and enforce accounting policies, SOPs, and documentation standards across entities.
2. Tax Compliance Supervision
• Supervise preparation and review monthly tax obligations (PPN, PPh 21/23/4(2)/15, and other taxes relevant to freight, trucking, and warehousing activities) before submission.
• Maintain tax calendars and supporting documentation across all operating entities.
• Support coordination of annual Corporate Income Tax (CIT) filing with tax consultants.
• Assist with tax audits and correspondence with tax authorities, under guidance of the Finance, Accounting & Tax Manager.
3. Team Supervision
• Supervise, coach, and allocate daily/weekly tasks to accounting and tax staff.
• Review team output for accuracy and completeness before escalation to the Finance, Accounting & Tax Manager.
• Provide on-the-job training on processes, SOPs, and system usage to junior finance staff.
4. Cash & Payments Support
• Supervise verification of vendor, payroll, and statutory payments prepared by staff, within delegated approval limits.
• Monitor daily cash positions and support preparation of rolling cash flow forecasts.
• Coordinate day-to-day banking activities as required.
5. Internal Controls & Process Improvement
• Support the design and enforcement of internal controls and finance processes suitable for a growing, multi-entity organization.
• Identify process gaps and recommend improvements, particularly around billing, cost allocation, and advance-payment cycles specific to trucking and freight operations.
• Support audit reviews and help ensure timely resolution of findings.
6. External Coordination
• Act as a working-level point of contact for external auditors, tax consultants, and banks; prepare supporting schedules and documentation.
• Support internal stakeholders (Operations, HR, Procurement) with financial data and reporting as needed.
Job Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5–10 years of hands-on experience in accounting, tax, and financial reporting, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or team-lead capacity.
• Strong knowledge of PSAK and Indonesian taxation.
• Prior experience in freight forwarding, trucking, warehousing, or shipping agency operations required; familiarity with industry-specific billing and advance-payment flows is a strong asset.
• Strong ownership mindset, structured, proactive, and detail-oriented, with proven ability to supervise and develop a small team.
• Proficient in Excel and ERP systems (SAP or similar).
