The Director, Monetization is responsible for leading and accelerating the growth of Viu's Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) subscription and B2B distribution via telcos, ISPs and other channel partners in Indonesia. This role oversees end-to-end monetization strategy, commercial operations, and partnership expansion to strengthen Viu's market position and maximize subscriber lifetime value. The incumbent will define the business roadmap, drive cross-functional collaboration, and ensure operational excellence in delivering sustainable revenue growth.
Your Role
- Lead strategy and execution to drive business growth of Viu's D2C business, covering subscriptions, on-demand transactions, and partnerships via existing channels as well as creation of new channels of distribution.
- Oversee monetization through in-app payments (Android and iOS), website purchases, third-party storefronts (e-commerce, e-banking), and joint bundle offerings with non-telco partners.
- Develop partnerships with payment platforms, e-wallets, banks, e-commerce players, OEMs (smartphones, smart TVs, tablets), and entertainment platforms (cinemas, ticketing, OTTs) to broaden distribution and enhance revenue opportunities.
- Work closely with Content, Marketing, and Product teams to design and optimize user journeys from free viewership to premium subscription, renewal, and churn-winback, using insights from performance data and consumer behavior.
- Define pricing, promotional, and packaging strategies to strengthen customer acquisition, conversion, and retention.
- Establish, monitor, and deliver business KPIs across revenue growth, user engagement, churn management, and lifetime value.
- Provide accurate forecasting, data analysis, and reporting aligned to corporate, country, and regional performance objectives.
- Manage operational risks, ensure compliance with corporate standards, and implement governance frameworks that safeguard commercial viability.
- Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation.
To Succeed in this Role
- Minimum of 12 years sales experience within digital premium content sales and/or digital payments industry. Have a proven record of overachieving consumer focused pay sub growth.
- Well-networked up to C level, across relevant partner ecosystem organizations
- Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization
- Resilient, determined, and can handle pressure situations with ease.
- Should be able to implement processes and structure for high efficiency.
- Excellent interpersonal, listening and communication skills leading to negotiations and quick deals.
- Good organizational, people management skills and customer focused attitude.
- Well-read and passionate about Korean/Asian dramas must be a Viu fan
- Highly fluent(spoken and written)in English and Bahasa Indonesia
