Job Description

Applications are now open for the Apple DevOps Institute (in collaboration with SQE) - a first of it's kind full-time, 6-month intensive program in Indonesia. This program is aimed for early-career software engineers who want to specialize in DevOps, automation, cloud, and modern delivery practices.

This is designed to be as good as a job in terms of commitment and real-world exposure: you'll work from BSD full-time, applying DevOps to 10+ real-world projects, with structured mentoring from industry experts and practical challenges.

What makes this Institute different

The DevOps Institute focuses on concepts over tools, trains you to learn holistically using real life challenges, and prepares you for a fast-changing DevOps landscape so that you can adapt as tooling and paradigms evolve.

What you'll learn & do

• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, security checks, and deployments across environments
• Containerize applications and manage deployments using Docker and Kubernetes fundamentals (deployments, services, ingress, configs/secrets)
• Provision and maintain cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform), with safe change and rollback practices
• Work with AWS services (ex: VPC, EKS, EC2, S3, RDS) to support reliable, secure, and cost-aware architectures
• Implement observability (metrics, logs, traces), set up dashboards/alerts, and use data to detect issues early
• Participate in incident response practices: triage, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis (RCA), and postmortems to prevent recurrence
• Collaborate with mentors and cross-functional teams to deliver real outcomes on 10+ real-world projects, communicating progress and trade-offs clearly

Who should apply

• Early-career software engineers with 12 years of development experience (or equivalent project experience)
• Strong interest in DevOps, automation, cloud, and engineering productivity
• Comfortable with Git and at least one programming language (any is fine)

Important commitment note

This is a full-time program based in BSD, so participants cannot be employed elsewhere during the 6 months.
