Job Description

The Deputy Director of Operations will play a critical role in supporting the strategic goals and optimizing the day-to-day operations of the construction company. This executive will ensure all construction projects are delivered safely, on time, within scope, and on budget, while driving operational efficiency and aligning with the company's long-term strategy. The ideal candidate must have a strong background in civil engineering and experience managing large-scale construction operations in Indonesia.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in monitoring the planning, execution, and delivery of all construction projects and operational functions.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies that improve project performance, resource allocation, and profitability.
  • Oversee project management teams, site operations, procurement, logistics, safety, and compliance.
  • Coordinate across departments including engineering, project controls, HR, legal, and finance to ensure seamless operations.
  • Establish, track, and report key performance indicators (KPIs) for construction timelines, budget adherence, safety, and quality.
  • Ensure adherence to local and national construction regulations and safety standards.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
  • Participate in contract negotiations, bidding processes, and project approvals.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and technology integration in construction operations.
  • Support the Director of Operations in setting strategic goals and contributing to overall business growth and direction.
  • Mentor site engineers, project managers, and other operational staff to build a strong leadership pipeline.

  • Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (required); Master's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Business Administration is a plus.
    • 5+ years of progressively responsible leadership experience in the construction industry.
    • Proven track record of managing large-scale, complex construction projects from planning through completion.
    • Familiarity with construction contracts, scheduling software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera), and project management tools.
    • Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
    • Experience with construction management software and project controls tools.
    • Familiarity with budgeting, risk management, and compliance practices specific to the construction sector.

    Preferred Attributes:

    • Experience in managing both commercial and infrastructure projects.
    • Fluent in English.
    • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to operate effectively under pressure.
    • Strategic mindset with operational discipline.
    • Willing to trave to check on the progress of projects located at various parts of Jabodetabek and Bali
