Job Description:

  • Create, maintain, and communicate data governance policies, procedures, and standards to ensure effective and efficient data usage across the organization, including data classification, access control, and metadata management
  • Define and enforce data quality standards, monitor data quality metrics, identify inconsistencies or anomalies, and implement improvements to ensure data accuracy and reliability
  • Collaborate closely with business units, engineering, cybersecurity, legal, and compliance teams to align data governance practices with organizational objectives and regulatory requirements
  • Develop and maintain metadata repositories, master data documentation, and data catalogs to enable a unified understanding and accessibility of data assets
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations such as GDPR, HIPAA, and UU PDP, as well as internal security policies including data masking, encryption, and access controls
  • Build and use dashboards and reporting tools to visualize governance metrics, analyze anomalies, and provide alerts when issues occur
  • Lead workshops and training sessions to educate employees on data governance policies, best practices, and compliance requirements
  • Identify opportunities to automate and enhance data governance processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in data governance, data quality management, or related data analyst roles, preferably within regulated industries such as fintech, banking, or healthcare
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and Python
  • Solid understanding of data modeling, metadata management, data lineage, and data quality monitoring tools
  • Familiarity with data privacy and data protection regulations such as GDPR, HIPAA, and UU PDP
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to clearly document policies and effectively engage stakeholders at various levels
  • Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and drive change across cross-functional teams
  • Relevant data governance or data management certifications are a plus
