Create, maintain, and communicate policies, procedures, and standards for data governance to ensure effective and efficient data use across the organization.
(e.g., data classification, user access controls, metadata management)
Propose and enforce data quality standards, monitor data quality metrics, identify inconsistencies or anomalies, and implement measures to improve data accuracy and reliability.
Work closely with business units, engineering, cybersecurity, legal, and compliance teams to align data governance practices with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
Develop and update metadata repositories, master data documentation, and data catalogs to enable unified understanding and accessibility of data assets.
Ensure adherence to data privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, UU PDP) and internal security policies, including data masking, encryption, and access controls.
Use dashboards and reporting tools to visualize governance metrics and analyze anomali, as well as provide alert when issues happen.
Lead workshops and training sessions to educate employees on data governance best practices, policies, and compliance requirements.
Identify opportunities for process automation and enhancement of data governance practices to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements:
3+ years of experience in data governance, data quality management, or related data analyst roles, preferably in regulated industries such as fintech, banking, or healthcare.
Strong SQL and Python programming skills.
Knowledge of data modeling, metadata management, data lineage, and data quality monitoring tools.
Familiarity with data privacy and protection laws (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, UU PDP) and industry standards.
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities to document policies clearly and engage with stakeholders at various levels.
Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, teamwork, and stakeholder management capabilities.
Ability to influence stakeholders and drive change across departments.
Relevant data governance or data management certifications are a plus.
