Job Description

Our client, a well-established multinational organisation within the industrial automation machinery sector, is seeking an experienced Country Manager to lead its Indonesia business.

Reporting to the regional leadership team, you will be accountable for the overall commercial performance and strategic direction of the Indonesia business. The role centres on driving sustainable growth through a predominantly channel-led model, while selectively expanding direct key account engagement.

You will be expected to balance strategic planning with operational execution, ensuring consistent delivery against revenue targets and long-term market development objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Channel Strategy & Distributor Management

  • Lead, develop, and optimise a network of key distribution partners to maximise market coverage and revenue growth
  • Critically assess and refine existing channel structures, including segmentation and partner strategies
  • Establish clear performance frameworks, ensuring alignment with broader commercial objectives
  • Strengthen distributor capabilities through structured engagement, governance, and regular business reviews

Business Development & Key Account Growth

  • Identify and develop strategic accounts within targeted sectors, including manufacturing, food, and textiles
  • Formulate and execute account development plans to drive penetration and revenue expansion
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers
  • Ensure a robust and well-managed sales pipeline with consistent conversion outcomes

Commercial Excellence & Planning

  • Oversee sales planning, forecasting, and performance management for the Indonesia market
  • Implement a disciplined, process-driven sales approach aligned with relatively short sales cycles
  • Leverage CRM systems and data analytics tools (e.g. Power BI) to support decision-making and business insights
  • Collaborate closely with regional teams to ensure alignment in strategy and execution

Country Leadership

  • Act as the official Country Representative, with full ownership of local market operations
  • Lead and develop the local team while leveraging regional technical and customer support resources
  • Uphold high standards of customer engagement and service delivery across all touchpoints

Candidate Profile / Requirements:

  • Demonstrated success in channel and distributor management within industrial or B2B environments
  • Solid experience within manufacturing or technical sectors (e.g. mechanical components, industrial products, automation, material handling)
  • Proven ability to drive growth through a proactive, results-oriented approach
  • Strong commercial acumen, with a structured and analytical approach to sales management
  • Experience managing short to medium sales cycles, with a focus on execution and delivery
  • Ability to operate independently with a high degree of ownership and accountability
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and data-driven tools; exposure to Power BI is advantageous
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Fluency in Bahasa Indonesia and English is essential
  • Indonesian nationality required for statutory representation
