The Beauty Category Manager plays a key role in developing product categories and building strong relationships with brand principals, vendors, and business partners. The role is responsible for managing end-to-end category performance while also driving business growth through strategic partnerships and collaborations.
Responsibilities :
- Develop and implement category strategies to maximize sales, margin, and market share
- Analyze product performance data (sales, margin, inventory turns) and consumer trends
Category Strategy & Planning
- Develop and execute category-level strategies that align with company goals and brand vision.
- Identify key trends, assortment gaps, and new product opportunities.
Partnership & Vendor Management
- Source and onboard new brand partners or suppliers aligned with business goals.
- Negotiate commercial terms, including pricing, trading margin, marketing support, payment terms, and exclusivity.
- Build long-term relationships with strategic brand partners through regular business reviews and joint planning
- Monitor vendor performance and ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
Sales & Performance Management
- Set category sales targets and monitor weekly performance.
- Analyze sell-through rates, margin contribution, and inventory turns.
- Drive decisions on markdowns, replenishments, and stock transfers.
- Conduct regular competitor analysis on covering products, displays, pricing, trends.
Basic PMO Support Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and coordinating category-related projects, including new product launches, seasonal campaigns, or retail initiatives.
- Support the development of project timelines, workplans, and deliverables to ensure timely and successful execution.
- Track project milestones, monitor progress, and follow up with stakeholders to ensure accountability and alignment.
- Maintain project documentation, prepare status reports, and provide visibility to management and cross-functional teams.
- Identify risks or blockers within projects and escalate them for resolution as needed.
- Support post-project reviews and analysis to capture learnings and improve future execution.
Strong in community
- Interest in building community and has strong connections to various community leaders/brands.
- Create community-based in-store activation programs to maintain sales, branding.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in category management, merchandise, partnerships, or buyer must beauty category.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales data and market trends for strategic planning.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and results-driven.
- Able to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Must be strong connection in community
