Customer Service:- Greet customers as they enter and exit.
Assist guests, providing product information and answering any questions.- Handle guests complaints or concerns professionally, escalating issues to the supervisor when necessary.
Operate cash registers and other point-of-sale (POS) systems efficiently.- Process various forms of payment including cash, credit/debit cards, gift cards, and coupons.
Ensure accurate pricing and coding for items being scanned.
- Issue receipts or change accurately.
Count money in cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts to ensure accurate amounts.
- Balance the cash drawer by counting cash at the beginning and end of each shift.
Maintain adequate change denominations in the cash drawer and request additional change as needed.
Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the checkout area.- Ensure security of all cash and credit transactions.
Adhere to all company policies and procedures regarding cash handling and sales transactions.- Follow all health and safety guidelines to maintain a safe work environment.
Ensure compliance with legal and company requirements at all times.
Qualifications:
- Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a cashier.
Strong numerical and mathematical skills.
- Proficiency in using POS systems and other relevant technology.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.- Friendly and approachable demeanor with a strong customer service orientation.
Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift light to moderately heavy items.
