The Business Unit Director is responsible for implementing, monitoring and ensuring that best processes is being followed properly to attain the set Deckers Supply Chain initiatives and objectives:
- Responsible for managing all commercialization activities and production operations as well as quality in his/her assigned group of partner factories.
- Coordinates and leads the team when communicating with other functional teams.
- Becomes the Deckers lead representative in his/her assigned group of partner factories
Job Descriptions:
- Oversee operations in the factory from commercialization to finished goods final inspection.
- Maintain communication and coordination with other functional departments that is essential to running his operations group.
- Coordinate with different stakeholders for proper transfer of projects to be produced in his assigned factories.
- To coordinate and communicate with location factories technical and production teams in executing the proper and agreed upon process standards
- To coordinate with the factory in ensuring that production resources are available to meet production plans and shipment schedules.
- To continuously look for opportunities to improve production efficiency, quality and costs and lead managers in implementing improvement programs.
- Leads and manages direct reports including: commercialization, Production and Quality and other affiliated staff working with his assigned factories.
- To ensure quality integrity of products that are being produced and shipped by factories under his group.
- Establishes quarterly KPIs for all the staff in the team as well factories under his group.
- To ensure factories compliance to Deckers Ethical Supply Chain Guidelines, Restricted Substances policies, and Product Security Programs.
Qualifications:
A university graduate, diploma/certificate holder of at least a four-years course
At least 15 years solid and on-hand experience in footwear manufacturing management
At least 10 years experience in general management of a regional manufacturing operations center.
- Have expert knowledge to develop strategic vision and provide unique insight to the overall direction and success of organization
- Acts as a trusted advisor and becomes involved in the business units decision-making process in relation to BU requirements.
- Works with a long-term perspective in addressing the business's production requirement.
- Set the climate and create culture to attain the business unit's focused outcomes.
- Demonstrate the personal commitment to fulfilling the business requirement in a timely and satisfactory manner.
- Must have good communication and presentation skill and well versed in English communication
- Should possess good general management and strong leadership skills
- Must have thorough knowledge shoe-manufacturing processes and details.
- Should show proof of strong technical knowledge in shoe manufacturing.
- Should possess impeccable integrity.
- Understanding of basic financial management including budgeting and expense management.
- Knowledge and in-depth understanding of footwear product creation process.
- Should have basic knowledge of e-mail communication systems.
