Job Summary
The Business Intelligence Data Modeler will play a key role in the IT department, focusing on the creation, maintenance, and optimization of data models that drive business intelligence initiatives. This position requires a combination of technical expertise, analytical thinking, and collaborative skills to effectively manage data integration, warehousing, and visualization processes to support organizational decision-making.
Job Description
- Design and implement scalable data models that align with business requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data requirements and ensure data integrity.
- Utilize data integration tools to streamline data workflows and automation.
- Develop and maintain documentation for data models and processes.
- Create and maintain reports using SSRS and visualization tools such as Tableau.
- Enforce best practices for data normalization, and the application of both Star and Snowflake schemas.
- Participate in data governance initiatives, ensuring compliance with metadata management standards.
- Provide training and support to team members on data-related tools and concepts.
Requirements
Job Requirements
- Minimum Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- Proven experience in business intelligence data modeling and data integration.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in business intelligence, data modeling, or related fields is required. Demonstrable experience in optimizing data solutions and improving data access performance is a plus.
- Programming: Proficient in Python, SQL, Java, or Scala.
- Data Integration Tools: Experience with Apache Airflow, Talend, and SSIS.
- Databases: Working knowledge of PostgreSQL, MySQL, and SqlServer.
- Version Control: Familiar with Git and GitHub for source control management.
- Visualization: Experience with Tableau for data visualization purposes.
- Report Service: Proficiency in SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services).
- Data Concepts: Strong understanding of data normalization processes, Star Schema, and Snowflake Schema.
