What you can expect
You will be contributing to that vision by:

  • New Business Development:
    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the freight forwarding sector.
    • Act as the primary liaison with customers on all business-related matters.
    • Obtain freehand business and proactively generate and follow up on sales leads.
    • Develop and implement strategies to penetrate new markets and expand the customer base.
  • Client Relationship Management:
    • Provide timely and competitive quotations to customers.
    • Conduct regular visits to existing and potential clients to build and maintain strong relationships.
    • Ensure customer satisfaction by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
  • Market Analysis and Strategy:
    • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments.
    • Develop concepts and strategies aimed at increasing cargo volumes and improving financial results on key trade lanes.
    • Analyze trade lane performance and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Product and Service Development:
    • Collaborate with product management and operational units to plan, develop, and implement attractive products and services.
    • Actively promote Rhenus's products and services to customers, overseas partners, and internal teams.
    • Transfer knowledge and market insights of trade lanes to overseas partners and local staff.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
    • Stay informed about changes in market regulations on trade lanes.
    • Communicate compliance requirements and updates to relevant parties within the organization.
  • Reporting and Communication:
    • Provide timely reports to immediate supervisors on business development activities and opportunities.
    • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and market intelligence.

  • Proven experience of sales in the freight forwarding industry.
  • Proven track record in business development with a focus on hunting sales roles.
  • Fluent in English
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications and general PC operations.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Assertive, independent, and detail oriented.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong team player with the ability to collaborate across different departments and cultures.
