Responsibilities

One of our valued Singapore clients is seeking an experienced business development professional who thrives in field sales and enjoys building relationships from the ground up. This role will be 70% frontline market and channel development work combined with 30% research and market intelligence gathering to inform product and strategy decisions. The ideal candidate genuinely enjoys going out into the field, meeting people, and turning new relationships into business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Frontline Market Development: Develop the market in priority countries (Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam) by targeting distributors, agents, EPCs, electricians, home improvement retailers, e-commerce service providers, local brands, and chain stores.
  • Full BD Cycle Execution: Independently complete the full business development cycle: lead sourcing outreach (calling/WhatsApp) meetings on-site visits negotiations partnership progression.
  • Channel Pipeline Building: Build a pipeline of 20+ potential partners per country and identify 3-5 high-priority targets for active advancement.
  • Pilot Project Execution & First Orders: Create and execute pilot market plans. Drive first-order acquisition and support initial installations to gather real user feedback and data.
  • Market Insights & Product Feedback: Collect market insights during client visits and installations on user scenarios, load types, pricing expectations, and product adaptation needs.
  • Channel Strategy & Partnership Design: Recommend optimal channel models per country and partnership terms. Assist in establishing tier structure (Tier A/B partners) and pricing framework (ex-factory/distribution/retail).
  • Competitive Intelligence: Track competitor products, pricing, promotions, sales pitch methods, and user pain points from offline stores, e-commerce platforms, exhibitions, and channel visits. Produce regular Southeast Asia Energy Storage + PV Competitor & Channel Intelligence Brief for decision-making.
  • Internal Collaboration: Work with Product/R&D, Supply Chain/Production, and Brand/Marketing.

Requirements

Must-Have

  • Fluency in English (written & spoken) for business communication and presentations
  • Bachelor's degree or higher; major field of study not strictly limited
  • 3+ years of experience in overseas market/channel development/business development
  • Experience in New Energy (Photovoltaics, Energy Storage, Home Power Solutions), Power Equipment, Home Appliances, 3C Electronics, or Hardware international markets is highly preferred
  • Proven ability to independently handle full BD cycle: prospecting clients building relationships presenting solutions negotiating deals securing orders
  • Basic data analysis and summarization skills; able to organize frontline information into clear reports and tables
  • Genuine passion for field work; enjoys going out, meeting people, and networking
  • Resilient, stress-resistant, and results-oriented personality

Nice-to-Have

  • Proficiency in Indonesian and/or Mandarin Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese, or Malay
  • Majors in Marketing, International Trade, Engineering, or Energy-related fields
  • Experience with CRM systems or sales pipeline management tools
  • Knowledge of energy storage or solar industry trends
