The Opportunity
We are hiring a Business Development Associate (Events & Marketing) to help grow Gump's corporate and event business across Southeast Asia. This role suits an ambitious early-career professional (13 years experience) who is passionate about connecting technology, events, and marketing, and wants to build a strong B2B SaaS sales career. You'll work directly with the founders to engage high-profile clients and sell a differentiated AI product shaping the future of event experiences.
Key Responsibilities
1. New Business & Pipeline Generation
- Identify and prioritise target accounts across corporates, universities, government bodies, agencies, and event organisers.
- Run structured outbound outreach (email, LinkedIn, calls, events) to secure discovery meetings with decision-makers in marketing, events, communications, HR, and branding functions.
- Qualify leads, understand their event/photo workflows and pain points, and maintain a healthy pipeline in CRM.
2. Consultative Sales & Closing
- Deliver tailored online and in-person demos that show how Gump resolves post-event photo chaos and enhances guest and sponsor experiences.
- Prepare proposals, pricing solutions, and ROI stories that resonate with marketing and event teams.
- Own deals from first meeting to signature, with close support from founders and senior team members for larger opportunities.
3. Event & Partner Collaboration
- Work with clients, agencies, and photographers to design how Gump is deployed at events (QR/face access, VIP photo flows, branded frames, privacy settings, feedback forms).
- Support key events remotely or on-site for both physical and virtual activations to ensure smooth execution and an excellent client experience.
- Help nurture relationships with agencies, production houses, and other partners that can bring recurring event opportunities.
4. Customer Onboarding & Expansion Support
- Coordinate the handover from sales to onboarding, ensuring clear expectations and timelines.
- Join post-event review calls to share engagement results, highlight successes, and uncover upsell or renewal opportunities (multi-event packages, regional rollouts, new use cases).
- Collect structured feedback from clients to refine messaging and influence the product roadmap around corporate and event needs.
What You Bring
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence engaging clients, event partners, and photographers.
- Entrepreneurial energy, curiosity, and a growth mindset you enjoy building relationships, testing new outreach angles, and learning from feedback.
- 03 years experience in B2B sales, business development, events, marketing, or a client-facing role; fresh graduates with strong drive are welcome.
- Experience or strong interest in marketing, events, business development, influencer/creator partnerships, or community building.
- Comfort using digital tools and eagerness to learn new systems (experience with AI, SaaS, CRM, or marketing tools is a plus).
- Fluent in English; bilingual proficiency in Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin) is preferred, and additional Asian languages (Thai, Bahasa, Vietnamese) are an advantage.
- A genuine passion for photography, events, or creative experiences that connect people and brands.
