Job Description

Job Purpose

To lead end-to-end product innovation and development for children's snack categories, ensuring products are safe, nutritious, market-relevant, and aligned with brand and regulatory standards. This role drives innovation strategy, formulates new products, improves existing products, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to bring ideas to market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for product roadmap timelines. Ensuring timely launch of new products and managing updates to existing products.
  • Execute the product NPD strategy that aligns with the company's vision and goals. Manage the product development process to launch, including overseeing formulation, conducting pricing & COGs analysis, sourcing and testing packaging components, and overseeing product testing and feedback processes to ensure product quality
  • Manage the product development budget, cost optimization, and allocate resources effectively
  • Identify and evaluate new raw materials, suppliers, and co-development partners (ingredient companies, flavor houses). Negotiate technical specifications and ingredient usage suited for children's products.
  • Collaborate with manufacturers. Sourcing and assessment of current and new manufacturers
  • Identify opportunities for product improvements and innovations. Collaborate with Marketing & Sales to translate consumer insights into innovative product opportunities.
  • Oversee multiple projects and products at different stages of development, ensuring timelines and deliverables are met
  • Conduct competitor and market research to evaluate product performance
  • Communicate with marketing to contribute to go-to-market strategies. Assist in the development of marketing product knowledge materials
  • Partner with Regulatory to ensure compliance for packaging and formulas. Ensure products meet high-quality standards and regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate artwork process with Product Designer, Regulatory and Logistics
  • Prepare technical documents, formulations, manufacturing SOPs, risk assessments, and product specifications. Support quality and food safety teams in HACCP, GMP, Halal requirements, and claims validation.

Qualifications:

  • Proven track record of successfully developing and launching snack or food products
  • A solid understanding of snack formulations and ingredients
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Food Engineering, or related fields.
  • Minimum 57 years of experience developing consumer products and working alongside manufacturing
  • Passion for food manufacturing industry, packaging, and a deep understanding of the industry. Experience developing products with local and offshore manufacturers
  • Familiar with BPOM regulations, Halal compliance, nutrition guidelines for children, and food safety systems (GMP, HACCP, FSSC/ISO 22000).
  • Strong project leadership, analytical thinking, and creativity in product and formulation development.
  • Exceptional time management skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
