About The Job

Based Mandarin Oriental Jakarta, the Bartender is responsible for preparing and serving beverages to guests with efficiency, consistency, and professionalism, while ensuring a welcoming and engaging atmosphere at the bar. The Bartender reports to the Supervisor MO Bar.

As Bartender, you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Operational & Service Standard
  • Greet all guests in the Mo Bar area with a warm and friendly welcome, providing menus and making them feel comfortable.
  • Take accurate beverage and food orders, including special requests and dietary requirements, and communicate them to the kitchen.
  • Making the beverage product and call kitchen for food order
  • Deliver the correct beverage and food orders promptly and courteously.
  • Ensure all the bar area (tables, chairs ) are kept clean, organized, and free of litter or used plates.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling, alcohol service guidelines, and cleaning procedures. Be aware of pool safety rules and report any potential hazards. Ensuring compliance to achieve MOHG audit scores.
  • Always Deliver Legendary Quality Experience (LQE) standards to exceed guest expectations.
  • Communication
  • Professional guest interaction to greet guests, describe the dishes to the guest, answering any questions they may have about the food or beverages.
  • Communicate all special requests, such as dietary restrictions, allergies, or specific preparation instructions to culinary team.
  • Coordinate with In-Room Dining Order Taker to inform about new orders, special instructions, and any changes.
  • Effectively communicate any issues, complaints, or special guest feedback to the In-Room Dining Supervisor/Manager.
  • Financial and Administrative
  • Prepare guest checks, verify billing information, and process payments accurately through the POS system. Handle cash, credit cards, and room charges efficiently and securely.
  • Complete all assigned opening and closing duties, which may include setting up or breaking down the bar, preparing for the day's service, and completing financial reports.

As Bartender, We Expect From You

Educational Background

  • Minimum high school education / hospitality diploma or equivalent is an advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in food and beverage service, preferably in luxury Hotel

Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong command of English
  • Knowledge of Alcoholic beverages
  • Mixology and drink preparation techniques
  • Inventory management and stock rotation
  • Bar set up and glassware knowledge
  • Strong communication skills
  • Multi-tasking and organizational abilities.
  • Handles guest concerns and operational challenges calmly and effectively
  • Demonstrates reliability, accountability, and adherence to MOHG values and standards

Technical Proficiency

  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with POS system or similar platforms Restaurant & Hotel is an advantage.
