We are seeking a skilled SAP Data Migration to support our enterprise-wide transformation and SAP implementation. The role will be focused on planning, designing, and executing end-to-end data migration activities across various SAP modules, ensuring accurate, secure, and seamless transfer of business-critical data.
Key Responsibilities
Data Migration Strategy & Planning
Collaborate with business stakeholders, functional consultants, and technical teams to define the data migration scope, methodology, and approach.
Develop migration plans including timelines, resource needs, and risk mitigation strategies.
Data Extraction, Transformation, and Loading (ETL)
Extract legacy system data using standard tools and methodologies.
Cleanse, validate, and transform data according to SAP target system requirements.
Load data into SAP (S/4HANA, ECC, or other landscapes) using tools such as LSMW, BODS, SAP Data Services, BAPI, IDocs, or Migration Cockpit.
Data Validation & Reconciliation
Perform data validation and reconciliation between legacy and target systems.
Ensure compliance with data quality and governance standards.
Create test scripts and execute test cycles to validate migration accuracy (e.g., unit testing, system integration testing, UAT support).
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
Work with functional consultants (FI/CO, MM, SD, HR, etc.) to understand master data and transactional data requirements.
Provide guidance to business teams on data cleansing and preparation.
Report migration progress, risks, and issues to project leadership.
Documentation & Knowledge Transfer
Prepare technical documentation including mapping rules, data dictionaries, and migration procedures.
Conduct knowledge transfer sessions for internal teams and business users.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
5+ years of hands-on experience in SAP Data Migration in large-scale implementation, rollout, or upgrade projects.
Strong expertise in SAP migration tools: SAP Data Services (BODS), LSMW, SAP Migration Cockpit, BAPI/IDoc, or other ETL tools.
Solid understanding of SAP Master Data (Customer, Vendor, Material, GL, Asset, Employee) and transactional data.
Proficiency in SQL, data analysis, and data profiling.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Experience working with S/4HANA migration projects is a plus.
Knowledge of data governance, data quality frameworks, and GDPR/compliance standards.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional, global teams.
Preferred Skills
Experience in cloud migration projects (Azure, AWS, GCP with SAP).
Familiarity with Agile/DevOps delivery model.
Exposure to SAP Activate methodology.
Knowledge of industry-specific data structures (Banking, Oil & Gas, Retail, etc.).
Role Leveling (can adjust depending on need)
Consultant: Hands-on role focused on ETL execution and data load.
Senior Consultant/Lead: Designs migration strategy, oversees team members, and manages complex datasets.
Manager/Architect: Owns migration strategy, data governance, and cross-module integration for multiple projects.
