What the role is

The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) is a statutory board under the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) of Singapore. The STB Jakarta office is part of the Board's network of overseas offices within the larger International Group. Key activities of the Jakarta office include marketing and promoting Singapore as a preferred business and leisure destination for Indonesian travellers, in collaboration with travel and media partners. This role primarily focuses on raising awareness of Singapore as a leisure and MICE destination through the strategic management of public relations and partner engagement.

What you will be working on

PR Management

  • Work with the Area Director to develop a comprehensive PR strategy for the Indonesian market, aimed at maximizing awareness and mindshare of Singapore as a leisure and MICE destination and ensuring alignment with STB's key messages.
  • Oversee and guide PR partners in planning and executing a range of activities, including but not limited to press releases, media familiarisation trips, press conferences, and influencer/media engagement initiatives.
  • Manage partners to ensure all deliverables are met on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Monitor and evaluate PR outcomes, providing insights and recommendations to optimise future campaigns.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for media and partner relations in Indonesia, building and maintaining strong relationships with journalists, media outlets, and relevant industry stakeholders.

Other Projects

  • Lead and manage partnerships with brands and/or non-travel partners to drive travel consideration and conversions.
  • Plan and execute marketing campaigns in support of STB's objectives.
  • Undertake other duties and projects as assigned from time to time.

What we are looking for

  • Trained in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in public relations, media relations, or communications, ideally within a travel, tourism, public sector or lifestyle industry.
  • Basic understanding of media channels, press release drafting, and media engagement, including familiarity with both traditional and digital media platforms.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in Bahasa and English; ability to draft clear, engaging content for media and stakeholders.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, with attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
  • Comfortable engaging with media, partners, and internal stakeholders; team player with a collaborative mindset.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, influencer engagement, and digital content trends.
  • Eager to take on responsibilities, learn on the job, and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with the Indonesian media landscape and consumer trends is an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for media or industry events, including media familiarisation trips.
