About the Job

As an Accounts Receivable Officer, you are responsible to manage incoming payments, ensure accurate allocation of receipts, and maintain effective credit control processes. This role plays a key part in safeguarding cash flow by minimizing overdue accounts and supporting strong customer relationships through timely and professional communication.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Accurately allocate incoming payments (bank transfers, checks, cash, and online payments) against customer invoices.
  • Investigate and resolve unidentified or misapplied payments.
  • Reconcile customer accounts to ensure all receipts are properly recorded.
  • Coordinate with sales and customers to clarify remittance details when necessary.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of all allocations in the accounting system.
  • Monitor customer accounts to identify overdue balances and potential risks.
  • Perform regular aging analysis and follow up on outstanding invoices.
  • Contact customers via phone/email to collect overdue payments.
  • Negotiate payment plans where appropriate while protecting company interests.
  • Review and recommend credit limits based on customer payment history and financial standing.
  • Escalate high-risk accounts to management when necessary.
  • Reconcile AR ledger to the general ledger regularly.
  • Prepare AR aging reports and collection status updates.
  • Assist in month-end closing activities related to receivables.
  • Provide insights on collection trends and recommend improvements.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in an Accounts Receivable or finance support role, preferably with a focus on Allocation or Credit Control.
  • Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics) is an advantage.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
