About the Job
As an Accounts Receivable Officer, you are responsible to manage incoming payments, ensure accurate allocation of receipts, and maintain effective credit control processes. This role plays a key part in safeguarding cash flow by minimizing overdue accounts and supporting strong customer relationships through timely and professional communication.
Job Responsibilities:
- Accurately allocate incoming payments (bank transfers, checks, cash, and online payments) against customer invoices.
- Investigate and resolve unidentified or misapplied payments.
- Reconcile customer accounts to ensure all receipts are properly recorded.
- Coordinate with sales and customers to clarify remittance details when necessary.
- Maintain up-to-date records of all allocations in the accounting system.
- Monitor customer accounts to identify overdue balances and potential risks.
- Perform regular aging analysis and follow up on outstanding invoices.
- Contact customers via phone/email to collect overdue payments.
- Negotiate payment plans where appropriate while protecting company interests.
- Review and recommend credit limits based on customer payment history and financial standing.
- Escalate high-risk accounts to management when necessary.
- Reconcile AR ledger to the general ledger regularly.
- Prepare AR aging reports and collection status updates.
- Assist in month-end closing activities related to receivables.
- Provide insights on collection trends and recommend improvements.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in an Accounts Receivable or finance support role, preferably with a focus on Allocation or Credit Control.
- Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics) is an advantage.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
