Job Description
Scope of Work
To oversee the accounting recording and reporting processes, including financial transaction records, invoices, accruals, fixed asset records, and asset movements; coordinate and monitor the settlement of outstanding balances as well as monthly and annual financial closing activities; coordinate and evaluate the communication and implementation of accounting policies, asset recording procedures, and asset movement status.
The role is also responsible for ensuring that accounting records and asset management processes comply with Joint Venture agreements, applicable regulations, and internal requirements, serving as a reliable basis for decision-making by Directors, Commissioners, and Shareholders. In addition, the Accounting Manager prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for business management, the Board of Directors, and shareholders, while leading annual budgeting activities, budget analysis, and budget utilization monitoring.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Oversee the management, development, and maintenance of the General Ledger (GL) system (Microsoft Dynamics); supervise accounts payable recording throughout daily accounting operations up to the financial closing process to ensure the production of accurate financial statements; analyze business operations, trends, costs, and revenues based on available accounting data.
- Manage general accounting recording processes, including daily invoice preparation and accrual records; perform cost analysis, including accrual-related assessments, and provide solutions to accounting issues; monitor the settlement of outstanding balances and monthly and annual financial closings; oversee fixed asset recording, amortization, and asset movement status; ensure that all accounting records comply with applicable laws and regulations as well as Joint Venture/Partner agreements, and that such records are valid and up to date to support management decision-making.
- Supervise the enhancement and optimization of the existing Microsoft Dynamics GP system to ensure a more reliable and stable platform; oversee the utilization of the ERP system for inventory, finance, procurement, and accounting purposes.
- Oversee audits within Company-Owned Company-Operated (COCO) fuel and non-fuel retail operations (NFR); supervise field audit activities; coordinate with other departments, including Human Resources, Legal, and Operations, to promote a zero-tolerance culture toward both internal and external fraud.
- Lead budget planning, conduct budget analysis, and monitor budget utilization on a quarterly basis to ensure alignment between actual performance and the approved annual budget plan; review budget analyses to provide insights into cost, revenue, and financial obligation trends, enabling accurate projections of future income and expenditures.
- Manage regulatory reporting submissions to government authorities, including BPH Migas and the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), covering sales volumes and sales figures.
- Prepare daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for the business, Board of Directors, and shareholders.
- Coordinate all preparations related to the annual external audit process; ensure the completeness and accuracy of financial statements and supporting documents; facilitate external auditors requests; provide clarification on transactions and account balances; follow up on audit findings; and ensure the audit process is conducted effectively, timely, and in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
- Support the Board of Directors and Head of Finance by providing additional business analysis, data insights, and reporting required by shareholders.
- Assist departments in the preparation of business cases.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree (S1) in Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role, including at least 3 years in a managerial position.
- Strong understanding of taxation, Indonesian Financial Accounting Standards (PSAK), and Certified Public Accountant (CPA) principles. Possession of relevant certifications will be considered an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of fraud audit processes.
- High integrity, self-confidence, and strong leadership capabilities.
- Excellent negotiation skills.
- Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
