Job Description

Position Title: Accounting Coordinator

Location: Surabaya (Onsite)

Type : Long-term Position

Reports to: Chief Executive Officer or his/her delegate

1.Background of Company

QED Research Consulting is a consulting firm focused on providing in-depth data and analysis to support the strategic decision-making of our clients in the public and private sectors. Along with our operational growth and an increasing number of projects, we require a dedicated Accounting Coordinator to ensure the company&aposs financial health, compliance, and operational efficiency.

2.Purpose of The Position

The purpose of the Accounting Coordinator position is to manage all daily accounting activities, ensure the accuracy of financial records, and support the preparation of reliable financial reports. This role plays a key part in maintaining the integrity of the company&aposs financial data and supporting management functions in budget planning and decision-making.

3.Roles and Responsibilities

Financial Transaction Management:

  • Manage and record all daily transactions, including accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR).
  • Process incoming and outgoing invoices and ensure timely payments.
  • Perform periodic bank and credit card reconciliations.

Financial Reporting:

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (Profit and Loss Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Statement) for both internal or external parties.
  • Using accounting software for recording financial transactions.
  • Prepare internal management reports as needed.
  • Support external and internal audit processes by providing necessary data.

Tax and Regulatory Compliance:

  • Assist in the calculation, payment, and reporting of monthly and annual taxes (PPh 21, PPh 23, VAT, etc.).
  • Ensure all accounting practices comply with the applicable Financial Accounting Standards (PSAK) in Indonesia.

Operational Support:

  • Manage the reimbursement process and employee expense reports.
  • Collaborate with project teams to track project budgets and expenditures.
  • Maintain and archive financial documents in a systematic and orderly manner.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency in accounting and financial processes.
  • Provide input regarding the use of accounting software and other tools.

4. Key Selection Criteria

  • Holds a Bachelor&aposs Degree (S1) in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. Final year university students are welcomed to apply as well.
  • Possesses a minimum of 2-3 years of work experience in accounting, finance, or auditing. Fresh-graduate or final year university students are welcome to apply as well
  • Experience in a consulting or service-based company is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of the full accounting cycle and Indonesian Financial Accounting Standards (PSAK).
  • Practical experience in managing corporate taxation (PPh, VAT).
  • Proficient in using accounting software (e.g., Accurate, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Has very high attention to detail, is well-organized, and can work under tight deadlines.
  • Possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrates high integrity and the ability to maintain the confidentiality of financial data.
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team with good communication skills.

5.Functional Relationships

This position will:

  • Report directly to the Chief Executive Officer or his delegate.
  • Work closely with the Project, Admin, and Finance teams;

6.Working Condition

This position needs to comply with:

  • Standard office hours (08.00 - 17.00), Monday to Friday, 1-hour maximum flexible lunch/prayer break period (could be taken from 11:30 to no later than 13.00) with occasional overtime (not advisable) as needed.
  • Office environment, with hybrid working conditions as per company policies.
  • Willingness to travel to various locations across Indonesia as needed for project support and stakeholder engagement.
  • Maintaining and being responsible for office assets entrusted including those used solely in office or those able to be taken back to home.
  • Maintaining the dignity, image and credibility of the company as best as possible.
  • Adhere to company policies and code of conduct including the security and confidentiality policies.
