Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the commissioning and operational readiness of the Roll Service Grinding & Workshop department.
  • Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance strategies for paper machine rolls and workshop facilities.
  • Manage roll grinding, balancing, inspection, coating coordination, and roll maintenance activities to ensure optimal machine performance.
  • Establish workshop capabilities for fabrication, machining, repair, welding, and precision maintenance.
  • Ensure all grinding equipment, machine tools, cranes, and workshop utilities are commissioned, tested, and maintained.
  • Develop maintenance procedures, work instructions, quality standards, and documentation for roll service and workshop operations.
  • Coordinate with Mechanical, Production, Automation, and Reliability teams during commissioning and performance optimization.
  • Manage spare parts, workshop tools, consumables, and maintenance budgets effectively.
  • Lead troubleshooting of roll-related issues affecting paper quality, machine efficiency, and equipment reliability.
  • Build, train, and develop workshop technicians and roll service personnel to support safe and efficient operations.
  • Ensure compliance with company HSE policies, quality standards, and statutory regulations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance roll life, maintenance efficiency, and workshop productivity.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in pulp and paper maintenance, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Strong experience in paper machine roll maintenance, grinding operations, machining, fabrication, and workshop management.
  • Experience in paper mill commissioning or large industrial project start-up is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of roll geometry, balancing, bearing systems, coatings, precision measurement, and machining processes.
  • Familiarity with CMMS, predictive maintenance techniques, and reliability engineering principles.
  • Proven leadership, planning, problem-solving, and cross-functional coordination skills.
  • Good communication skills in English; Bahasa Indonesia proficiency is an advantage.
  • Acontract-based during project phase, with a high chance of permanent during operation & maintenance phase.
  • Willing to be placed in OKI, South Sumatra.
