Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee the entire water treatment plant (WTP) operations for the township/area, including water production and distribution systems.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies to ensure efficiency, reliability and sustainability of water treatment processes.
  • Manage and optimize BWRO, SWRO, and Ultrafiltration systems to ensure consistent production of consumable (safe-to-drink) water.
  • Ensure compliance with government regulations, environmental standards and internal quality benchmarks.
  • Supervise and manage daily plant operations, maintenance planning and distribution network performance.
  • Control and monitor operational budgets, CAPEX/OPEX and cost-efficiency initiatives.
  • Lead continuous improvement programs to enhance plant performance, reduce downtime and optimize resource utilization.
  • Oversee water quality monitoring systems, ensuring accurate testing, reporting and documentation.
  • Build and lead a high-performing team by providing direction, coaching and performance management.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders, contractors and authorities to ensure smooth operations across the area.
  • Ensure implementation of HSE standards and a safe working environment across all WTP operations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or a related field (Master's Degree is a plus).
  • Minimum 8-12 years of experience in a water treatment plant, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial level.
  • Proven experience handling large-scale water treatment systems in a township/estate/industrial area.
  • Strong expertise in BWRO, SWRO, Ultrafiltration and advanced water treatment technologies.
  • Solid understanding of end-to-end water cycle; raw water intake, treatment, distribution and wastewater integration.
  • In-depth knowledge of water quality standards, regulatory compliance and HSE (Health, Safety & Environment).
  • Experience in managing plant operations, budgeting, cost control and efficiency improvement.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing cross-functional and operational teams.
  • Excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving and strategic planning skills.
  • Strong reporting, stakeholder management and communication skills.
