About the Role

Smailing Tour is a leading travel group specialising in Corporate Travel Management, Meetings & Events (MICE), and Luxury Travel Experiences, with multiple business units operating across different market segments.

We are seeking a highly accomplished Vice President, Marketing Communications to lead group-wide marketing communications, public relations, and brand positioning. Reporting directly to the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), this role works closely with the Executive Leadership Team to elevate Smailing Tour's reputation, visibility, and strategic positioninglocally, regionally, and internationally.

This role is ideal for a strategic yet hands-on leader with deep experience in PR, digital marketing, and integrated marketing communications, preferably from the travel, hospitality, luxury lifestyle, or premium services sectors.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Executive Partnership

  • Act as the senior authority for Marketing Communications and PR across the Smailing Tour Group
  • Partner closely with the CMO and Executive Leadership Team to shape and execute group-level communications strategy
  • Translate corporate strategy into clear, compelling narratives that enhance brand equity and reputation
  • Provide strategic counsel to leadership on reputation management, brand positioning, and public visibility

Marketing Communications & PR Strategy

  • Lead and oversee all external and internal marketing communications, including PR, media relations, corporate messaging, and brand storytelling
  • Develop and execute integrated PR and marketing campaigns aligned with business objectives
  • Ensure consistent brand positioning and messaging across all subsidiaries and business lines
  • Drive communications strategies that strengthen market leadership, trust, and audience engagement

Media Relations & Public Visibility

  • Build, maintain, and leverage a strong network of local, regional, and international media
  • Manage relationships with top-tier media, editors, journalists, and opinion leaders
  • Oversee press strategy including press releases, interviews, features, crisis communications, and thought leadership
  • Serve as a senior spokesperson or manage spokesperson strategy where appropriate

Digital Marketing & Integrated Campaigns

  • Provide strategic oversight of digital marketing, content strategy, and online brand presence
  • Ensure PR and marketing campaigns are strategically planned, data-informed, and well-executed
  • Oversee alignment between PR, digital, content, and campaign teams for maximum impact

Team & Stakeholder Leadership

  • Lead and mentor the Marketing Communications Manager and marketing communications teams
  • Provide clear direction, structure, and accountability across marketing communications functions
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders across sales, operations, and subsidiaries
  • Manage agencies, consultants, and external partners as required

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Minimum 58 years of senior management experience leading Marketing Communications, PR, and integrated marketing
  • Strong background in travel, hospitality, luxury lifestyle, premium services, or related industries
  • Proven experience working with local, regional, and international media
  • Deep understanding of media relations frameworks, PR strategy, and reputation management
  • Well-versed in digital marketing, content strategy, and integrated campaign planning
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically while driving execution
  • Strong leadership experience managing senior teams and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English and Bahasa Indonesia
  • Calm, confident, and credible executive presence
