Role Description

As a Vocal Teacher at Patricia Istianto Music School, you will provide structured vocal instruction to students of varying ages and skill levels in an on-site, classroom and studio setting in East Jakarta. This full-time role includes planning and delivering individual and group lessons, teaching proper vocal techniques, warm-ups, breathing exercises, performance skills, and basic music theory. You will assess student abilities, set personalized learning goals, track progress, and prepare learners for recitals, exams, and performances. The role also involves collaborating with other teachers on events and ensemble projects, communicating regularly with parents or guardians about student development, and maintaining accurate attendance and lesson records. You will contribute to a positive, inclusive learning environment that promotes confidence, discipline, and a lasting appreciation for music.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in vocal technique, music theory, and performance, with the ability to teach a range of styles (e.g., classical, pop, contemporary).
• Demonstrated experience teaching voice to children, teens, and/or adults, ideally in a music school or similar educational setting.
• Effective classroom and studio management skills, including lesson planning, pacing, and adapting methods to different learning styles.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient, encouraging, and student-focused teaching approach.
• Ability to prepare students for recitals, assessments, and public performances, including coaching on stage presence and confidence.
• Formal education in Music, Vocal Performance, Music Education, or a related field is preferred; relevant training or certifications are an advantage.
• Willingness to work on-site in East Jakarta during afternoons, evenings, and/or weekends as required by class schedules.
• Professionalism, reliability, and a strong commitment to ongoing musical and pedagogical development.
