About the Role
Soechi Group is seeking a Vetting Assurance Superintendent to join our Marine Assurance, Vetting, HSSEQ & Training Division. You will be responsible for overseeing vetting and audit activities on our fleet, ensuring safe and compliant vessel operations aligned with global shipping standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute SIRE/CDI inspections, terminal audits, and other vetting activities.
- Ensure vessel operations meet charterers, class, and international maritime requirements.
- Coordinate with internal departments and external stakeholders, including charterers, auditors, and terminals.
- Monitor implementation of Vessel Management System (VMS) and recommend improvements.
- Assist fleet and marine teams in preparing for inspections and closing audit findings.
- Prepare annual vetting budgets and ensure timely reporting of discrepancies and corrective actions.
- Drive onboard crew awareness and readiness for vetting and safety compliance.
Requirements
- Master Mariner (COC Class 1) with a degree in maritime studies.
- At least 2 sea contracts as Master on tanker; superintendent experience preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of vessel operations, statutory requirements, and international regulations.
- Strong communication skills and fluent in English.
- Familiar with risk assessment, incident investigation, crisis management, and management of change.
