Position Overview

The Vendor Relationships & Management Lead is responsible for strategically supporting and optimizing vendor relationships within our Group Logistics Business. This role supports and nurtures our vendor relationships to ensure delivering of high-quality, cost-effective services that align with both our clients expectations and internal group objectives.

The ideal candidate will have over 5 years experience as a Master Vendor; Understand how to build great relationships with other vendors through leading the vendor selection process, performance management and contract negotiations; Support continuous improvement initiatives to help our vendors enhance efficiency and mitigate risks.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Oversight:

  • Oversee the comprehensive management of vendor relationships for the Group's Logistic Business to ensure alignment with the organization's business goals and client engagements.
  • Develop initiatives to continuously improve vendor-related processes and overall service quality.

Vendor Selection & Evaluation:

  • Manage the end-to-end vendor selection process, ensuring potential partners can meet company expectations and strategic requirements.
  • Regularly evaluate, support and optimize vendor performance using key performance indicators (KPIs) to maintain high-quality service delivery.

Performance Management:

  • Gather feedback from operational teams and conduct routine performance reviews to support vendor performance.
  • Develop and implement performance improvement plans for underperforming vendors.

Contract Management:

  • Lead the negotiation and management of vendor contracts, ensuring favorable terms and strict adherence to contractual and regulatory obligations.
  • Continually assess and ensure vendor contract compliance with group procurement policies.

Cost Leadership & Risk Management:

  • Manage vendor-related costs through effective negotiation and cost management strategies.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with vendor performance and supply chain disruptions, ensuring operational continuity.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Work in close partnership with internal teams such as logistics, procurement, finance, and senior management to integrate vendor management strategies with overall group objectives.
  • Build and sustain strong business partnering relationships with vendors and industry bodies, fostering long-term collaboration and communication.

Qualifications

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A Master's degree or MBA is preferred.

Professional Experience:

  • Minimum of 7–10 years of experience in vendor management within one of the following industries: Logistics and Trucking / Construction & Infrastructure / IT Master Services / Multi-Facilities Management where you have consistent exposure to Master Vendor arrangements and ways of working.
  • At least 3–5 years in a leadership role, demonstrating effective management of vendor relationships and performance.

Hard Competencies (Technical):

  • Proven expertise in vendor management, including vendor selection, performance evaluation, and contract negotiation.
  • Strong background in cost management and financial analysis related to vendor operations.
  • Proficiency with vendor management software and analytical tools to monitor and optimize vendor performance.

Soft Competencies:

  • Excellent leadership skills with a proven ability to manage, mentor, and develop high-performing teams.
  • Superior communication and negotiation skills for effective stakeholder and vendor relationship management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on continuous process improvement.
