The Team:

The Quality Assurance Engineering team focuses on ensuring quality during the New Product Introduction (NPI) process as well as maintaining quality throughout design changes and product updates. The team also receives field returns and completes analysis to provide failure analysis to customers, determine trends and any necessary corrective actions.

The Role:

The Triage and Repair Technician is a part of a team of Technicians and Engineers who provide electrical support for issues involving new and existing products.In addition, the Technician will focus on troubleshooting failed units from the field with the goal of improving/maintaining product quality as well as repairing said products. There are also frequent opportunities to effectively interface with Design, Process, Test, and Manufacturing Engineering to solve product issues and production problems.

Essential Functions:

• Investigate product failures in the effort of identifying root cause(s) of failure.
• Repair and refurbish return products to provide replacements for customers.
• Assist Engineering with product and PCBA debug and ensuring product performance.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Familiarity with mechanical, optical, and software engineering concepts sufficient to enable debugging issues.
• Electrical hardware debugging skills.
• Basic soldering skills.
• Ability to quickly learn and fully understand how a product works by using existing documentation and tools.
• Knowledge of analog and digital circuit design.
• Using relevant knowledge, know-how, and skills to explain and clarify thoughts and ideas.
• The ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.
• A flexible and innovative approach to work.
• Good interpersonal / communication skills
• The ability to work with people at all levels of the organization both internally and externally.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills
• Ability to perform in a fast-paced, rapidly changing, goal-oriented, and time-sensitive environment.

Minimum education and work experience required:

• 2+ years of electrical product debug experience, preferably with commercial embedded systems.
