Transportation Section Head

Responsibilities

• Manage daily transportation operations, including fleet routing and scheduling.
• Perform load optimization (tonnage, volume, and safety compliance).
• Monitor and control OTIF (On Time In Full) performance.
• Manage queuing systems and turnaround time at plants and warehouses.
• Monitor fleet utilization, breakdowns, and preventive maintenance activities.
• Manage and evaluate transportation vendors, including KPI performance, contracts, freight rates, and claims handling.
• Prepare daily and monthly reports on transportation performance and costs.
• Analyze delivery performance and identify distribution bottlenecks.
• Coordinate closely with plants, warehouses, customers, and transport vendors.
• Handle operational issues such as truck breakdowns, unloading delays, and customer complaints.
• Make fast and accurate decisions in urgent operational situations.
• Work flexible hours to support 24/7 transportation operations.
