About The Job
Multi Bintang Indonesia is looking for a seasoned Trade Marketing Manager to shape how our brands win across channels in Indonesia.
This is a critical leadership role at the intersection of strategy, execution, and capability building that responsible for translating category and shopper insights into high-impact trade strategies, elevating execution standards, and enabling the sales organization to deliver consistent, winning performance.
Operating in a highly regulated dark market environment, you will play a key role in defining how we drive relevance, visibility, and growth for our brands through disciplined and innovative trade excellence.
Job Purpose And Impact
As Trade Marketing Manager, you are accountable for ensuring that channel strategies are clearly defined, effectively translated, and consistently executed across the market.
You act as the critical bridge between Marketing and Sales, converting strategic intent into clear, scalable, and actionable trade guidelines, while enabling the field and distributor network to execute with precision.
This role has a direct impact on business performance and brand strength, by driving superior in‑store presence, improving execution quality, and strengthening sales capability at scale. You will also play a key role in navigating the complexity of a dark market by unlocking growth through insight‑led and execution‑focused trade initiatives.
Main Responsibilities
- Define and lead channel strategies across Modern Trade, General Trade, and On‑Trade, ensuring alignment with business priorities and market realities
- Translate shopper, category, and market insights into clear, scalable trade guidelines and execution frameworks
- Drive in‑store excellence by improving availability, visibility, and positioning of key SKUs across channels
- Establish and track leading and lagging indicators of execution quality, including distribution, volume, visibility, and compliance to standards
- Elevate sales force and distributor capability through structured tools, playbooks, and capability-building initiatives
- Act as a strategic bridge between Marketing and Sales, ensuring brand strategies are translated into effective commercial execution
- Lead POPM and trade asset strategy, ensuring optimal allocation, impact, and return
- Design and deliver innovative BTL and trade activation strategies to win in a regulated dark market environment
- Drive a culture of execution discipline, performance tracking, and continuous improvement across regions
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, and Digital to ensure end‑to‑end commercial effectiveness
CANDIDATE CRITERIA
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or related field
- Minimum 8 – 15 years in Trade Marketing, Channel Development, or Sales within FMCG, beverage, or other fast‑moving consumer categories
- Strong track record in developing and executing channel strategy and trade marketing programs at scale
- Demonstrated ability to translate strategy into simple, actionable execution that delivers measurable impact
- Deep understanding of distribution models, field sales dynamics, and in‑store execution realities in Indonesia
- Proven experience working closely with distributors and multi-channel environments (MT, GT, On‑Trade)
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing capability within a matrix organization
- Analytical, commercially driven, and comfortable navigating complexity and ambiguity
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken
