Role Description

The Textile Laboratory Staff role is a contract, on-site position based at PT. Kahatex's facility in Rancaekek. The role involves preparing and testing textile chemical solutions, dyes, and auxiliaries according to laboratory procedures and production requirements. Daily tasks include conducting physical and chemical tests on yarns, fabrics, and finished textiles, recording and analyzing test data, and supporting quality control activities to ensure compliance with internal standards and customer specifications. The laboratory staff will collaborate with production and quality teams to troubleshoot chemical-related issues, maintain laboratory equipment, and ensure safe handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals. The role also requires adherence to environmental, health, and safety regulations and participation in continuous improvement of laboratory methods and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Textile Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience in the textile industry with knowledge of textiles and textile chemical processes.
• Skills in quality control, including sampling, testing, data recording, and reporting for textile materials.
• Understanding of specialized textile applications such as embroidery and related finishing processes.
• Ability to support internal stakeholders (e.g., production, sales) with technical information on textile performance and chemical usage.
• Familiarity with laboratory instruments, test methods, and safety procedures for handling industrial chemicals.
• Attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to follow standardized test protocols.
• Basic computer skills for data entry, report preparation, and documentation; working proficiency in English is beneficial.
• Willingness to work on-site in Rancaekek and collaborate in a diverse, inclusive team environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct laboratory testing and analysis related to the textile finishing process.
• Monitor and evaluate chemical formulations and finishing results.
• Ensure testing procedures are carried out according to company standards.
• Record, analyze, and prepare laboratory test results and reports.
• Coordinate with Production, Quality Control, and other related departments.
• Support troubleshooting and improvement activities related to finishing quality and processes.
