Position Summary
JOB PURPOSE
Primarily to promote and sells Parker Hydraulics product and systems to all listed and potential customers within product and or region's range to chemical industries, general industries, electrical/power industries, oil and gas industries, plantation industries, heavy equipment industries and other mining industries. Construction & Infrastructure (e.g. Excavators, bulldozers, cranes, road rollers), Mining (e.g. Giant excavators, drilling rigs, dump trucks), Manufacturing (e.g. Hydraulic presses, injection molding, CNC machines), Oil & Gas (e.g. Offshore/onshore drilling rigs, valve actuators), Logistics & warehousing (Forklifts, lift tables, dock levelers), Agriculture (e.g. tractors, combine harvesters, irrigation pumps), Maritime & shipping (e.g. Ship steering gears, winches, deck cranes), Power & electricity (e.g. Turbines, Dam gates, steam control valves, main stop valves, pitch control, yaw drives, solar tracking system, high-voltage circuit breakers, wellhead actuators, cooling systems).
Cultivate strong customer relationships and drive market expansion across diverse regions. This role is responsible for key account management, technical service, and strategic business development. You will balance your efforts by dedicating 50% of your time to servicing established accounts with aftermarket solutions, while the remaining 50% is focused on identifying and acquiring new business opportunities.
Responsibilities
MAIN DUTIES
Develop and sustain robust client relationships while consistently achieving strategic objectives. Ensure the specification of Parker Hydraulics products to drive revenue growth, prioritizing opportunities on an account-by-account basis to maximize sales and margins. Maintain expert-level technical knowledge of product applications and competitive landscapes, providing regular market intelligence reports to management. Collaborate with internal divisions to align product strategies with account needs, while leading technical training for distributors and customers to facilitate competitive brand conversions.
Key Accountabilities
- Strategic Account Optimization: Secure product specifications to drive revenue growth, prioritizing high-value opportunities to maximize sales volume and profit margins.
- Technical Subject Matter Expertise: Maintain a deep understanding of Parker complex hydraulic systems, applications, and competitive advantages to provide high-level technical
consultation.
- Complex Modification Approval: Manage the technical specification and approval process for large-scale product modifications tailored to major client requirements.
- Market Intelligence & Reporting: Proactively inform management of market shifts and regulatory changes impacting the distribution and supply chain of Parker products.
- Cross-Divisional Collaboration: Partner with Parker internal divisions to ensure seamless product delivery and service excellence for assigned key accounts.
- Synergy & Referral Management: Drive incremental growth by identifying cross-selling opportunities and providing qualified leads to other Parker product groups.
- Technical Knowledge Transfer: Conduct professional product training and technical workshops for both distributors and end-users.
- Competitive Market Conversion: Lead the strategic acquisition of competitor accounts by demonstrating superior value and technical performance.
- Sales Data Analytics: Perform rigorous analysis of sales performance metrics to identify trends, gaps, and growth opportunities.
- Voice of Customer (VoC): Systematically collect and synthesize customer feedback to improve service quality and product alignment.
- Strategic Reporting: Deliver comprehensive performance updates and market insights directly to the Hydraulics Sales Manager.
- Continuous Professional Development: Stay at the forefront of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor strategies to maintain a competitive edge.
Qualifications
JOBHOLDER REQUIREMENTS
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in the similar sector, including at least 3 years in a Senior Sales Engineer role or equivalent leadership position.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Business Administration with Technical Background from a reputable university; an
Advanced Degree (Master's/MBA) is highly preferred.
- Industry Expertise: Comprehensive understanding of Mining, Commercial/Industrial Engineering, Plantation, Power Plant, and Construction sectors.
- Technical Proficiency: In-depth technical knowledge of large-scale engineering projects, specifically within petroleum, industrial power plants, and complex infrastructure.
- Project Leadership: Proven track record in successfully executing and overseeing large-scale engineering projects in remote or challenging geographical locations.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Commercial Acumen: Strong capability in managing commercial business aspects, including complex contract negotiations and client relationship management.
- Project Governance: Expert at conducting rigorous project reviews to ensure all deliverables remain aligned with budgetary constraints and strict timelines.
