As we scale our FMCG retail operations, we need a
Technical Leader who can ensure our business systems run reliably while supporting our digital and physical products.
What You'll Own
Business Systems & ERP Operations
- Lead technical integration, customization, and daily operations of Oracle NetSuite ERP
- Ensure smooth data flow between sales channels (e-commerce, B2B, marketplaces) and NetSuite
- Build and maintain internal operational tools: dashboards, reports, workflow automation for Finance, Supply Chain, and Operations teams
- Provide Tier-2/3 technical support for business-critical systems: troubleshoot ERP issues, data sync failures, integration problems
- Support multi-warehouse operations, inventory management, batch tracking, and 3PL integrations
- Collaborate daily with Business Intelligence, Product Manager, Finance, Ops, and Supply Chain teams to understand and solve their technical pain points
Security, Compliance & Vendor Management
- Lead data governance, ensuring compliance with audit requirements
- Conduct vendor security assessments before API/system integration
- Prepare technical documentation for external audits and ensure all compliance requirements are met
Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Lead and mentor 2-4 engineers (backend, frontend, or full-stack) with a focus on business systems work
- Translate technical issues into business language
- Work cross-functionally with non-technical teams: Finance, Supply Chain, Operations, Commerce
- Help engineers understand business context and FMCG operations, not just code
- Foster a culture where operational work (ERP, internal tools, support) is valued equally with product features
Day-to-Day Operations
- Monitor all transactional data integrations and resolve issues before they impact business operations
- Maintain documentation for all business systems and integrations
What Success Looks Like (6-12 Months)
Business Operations
ERP data integration runs smoothly with a <1% integration error rate
Sales data from all channels is reconciled in NetSuite consistently within 24-48 hoursZero critical business disruptions due to ERP or integration failures
Security & Risk Management
- Security baseline established with documented current state and improvement roadmap
- The company is prepared for future audit requirements with organized documentation and processes
Stakeholder Relations
- Finance, Ops, and Supply Chain teams trust engineering as a reliable partner
Team Development
- Engineers understand FMCG business flows and can troubleshoot common ERP issues independently
- The team handles operational support rotation without constant escalation to you
Requirements
You're a Fit If You...
Business Systems Experience (Critical - Non-Negotiable)
- 2+ years hands-on experience with ERP systems (NetSuite strongly preferred; SAP, Oracle, Oddo acceptable)
- Deep understanding of FMCG/retail business processes: inventory, fulfillment, invoicing, reconciliation
- Experience integrating sales channels (e-commerce platforms, POS systems, marketplaces) with ERP
- Comfortable with data reconciliation, debugging data sync issues, and working with Finance/Ops teams
- Track record building internal operational tools (dashboards, reports, workflow automation)
- Experience with SuiteScript or willingness to learn NetSuite customization
Technical Foundation
- 3+ years of software development experience (backend, full-stack, or business systems)
- Proficient in at least one backend language: Go or Node.js
- Strong SQL skills and database management experience
- Understanding of API integrations, data pipelines, and ETL processes
- Familiar with basic cloud infrastructure and CI/CD workflows
- Not required to be an expert in cutting-edge tech stack. We value reliability over innovation here
Stakeholder Communication
- Proven ability to explain technical problems to non-technical executives
- Experience working directly with Finance, Supply Chain, or Operations teams
- Patient and clear when handling support requests from business users
Operational Mindset
- Comfortable with boring operational work: ERP troubleshooting, data fixes, help desk escalations, monitoring dashboards
- View business systems stability as more important than shipping new features
- Systematic approach to debugging: logs, data tracing, root cause analysis
- Understanding that making Finance's job easier is a real engineering impact
Leadership & Soft Skills
- Have mentored or led 2-4 engineers in a team setting
- Can guide engineers who may be more interested in app development also to value business systems work
- Humble, service-oriented mindset toward internal business teams
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of WMS (Warehouse Management Systems) or 3PL integrations
- Experience with batch tracking, expiry management, and multi-SKU operations

Seniority & Scope
- Technical Lead position reporting to the Engineering Manager - you'll lead the business systems function while staying hands-on
- Manage and develop 2-4 engineers focused on business systems, internal tools, and operational support
- Build business systems engineering practice - establish standards, processes, and team culture from the ground up
- Work closely with the Engineering Manager, Product Manager, C-Level, Business Intelligence, Finance, and Supply Chain as the technical owner of business operations systems
- Balance hands-on technical work (40%) with team leadership, coordination, and planning (60%)
- Own the technical roadmap for all business systems and ERP integrations, with EM approval on major initiatives
- Act as primary technical liaison between Engineering and Business Operations teams
- Participate in technical discussions with C-level about business systems, vendor selection, and operational technology investments
- Drive hiring and onboarding for business systems engineers in collaboration with EM
- Expected to mentor, performance manage, and grow your team members toward senior roles
- This is a technical leadership position with people management responsibilities. You'll be evaluated on both team outcomes and technical execution
