Technician (Printing / Gallus)

POSITION INTRODUCTORY:

A Gallus Technician is responsible for maintenance, and troubleshooting of Gallus printing presses used in label and packaging production. The role ensures high-quality print output, machine reliability, and adherence to safety and production standards.

RESPONSIBLITIES:

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on Gallus Labelmaster 440 and Labelmaster 340.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, operational and printing-related issues to minimize downtime.
• Replace worn parts and ensure proper lubrication of components.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs.
• Report any major issues to Ass Mgr. Engineering and suggest improvements
• Adhere to all safety policies, procedures, and legislation to ensure a safe working environment

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education from Technical diploma or equivalent in Printing or Mechanical Engineering
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Ability to read technical manuals and troubleshoot mechanical.
• Possess a positive personality and be able to approach people at all levels.
• Familiarity with Flexo inks, substrates (e.g., BOPP, PET, PVC), and colour management systems.
• Strong oral and written skills in English
