GENERAL INFORMATION :

Type : Office Job

Work Location: Central Jakarta Indonesia

Division : Fleet Ship Management

JOB SUMMARY :

The Technical Superintendent is responsible for ensuring assigned vessels operational readiness by overseeing technical and nautical maintenance aspects. This includes planning, coordinating, and analyzing all maintenance-related activities and vessel equipment performance to meet high repair and maintenance standards, whether during docking or regular operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY :

  1. Develop periodic maintenance and repair schedules for vessels under their management, including docking plans.
  2. Coordinate ship maintenance and repair activities according to daily, monthly, and annual work plans.
  3. Organize, evaluate, and conduct technical assessments of vessel conditions, identifying necessary maintenance needs and recommending appropriate solutions for any issues.
  4. Monitor and evaluate equipment damage, ensuring swift responses and providing accurate problem-solving references.
  5. Oversee and assess the status of ship equipment, including the quality of maintenance logbook documentation and reports.
  6. Plan and evaluate vessel crew activities, particularly in the engine room, and recommend skills-based training as required.
  7. Assess the performance of the vessel crew in the engine room.
  8. Implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and periodically recommend work process improvements.

REQUIREMENTS :

  • Nationality: Indonesian
  • Certification: Marine Engineer Class 1 Certificate.
  • Experience:
  • Sailing experience as Chief Engineer or 2nd Engineer on Oil, Chemical, Gas, or LNG Tankers for at least two contracts.
  • Preferably has shore-based experience as a Technical Superintendent for at least one year.
  • Skills and Competencies:
  • Familiarity with vessel operations and docking processes.
  • Strong analytical thinking and proactive problem-solving abilities.
  • Good leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
  • Willingness to travel frequently.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in English.
