About the Opportunity
We are seeking a Technical Sales Engineer to join our team in Indonesia. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who excels at bridging the gap between complex technical challenges and practical, value-driven business solutions. You will work closely with major industrial players to optimize their operations through our world-class engineering portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Assessment & Surveying
- Conduct detailed plant surveys and technical discussions across various regions in Indonesia, focusing on power plants, steam and water cycles, vibration monitoring, and continuous emission monitoring.
- Identify operational gaps in steam and water cycles and plot system uptime to propose data-backed improvements.
Value-Based Engineering Solutions
- Apply the Forbes Marshall value-based selling approach by demonstrating measurable benefits and energy savings.
- Recommend and implement solutions involving Steam & Water Analysis Systems (SWAS), Water Quality Analyzers, Vibration Monitoring, Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems (CEMS), Steam Traps, and Flow meters.
Commercial Excellence & Proposal Management
- Develop and present techno-commercial proposals (averaging 4–6 per week) aligned with customer requirements to convert opportunities into sustainable business.
- Maintain a steady pipeline of opportunities through consistent follow-up and relationship management.
Customer Engagement & Field Presence
- Engage actively with customers across the power, fertilizer, oil and gas, and cement industries.
- Maintain high visibility through regular field visits (typically 8–10 interactions per week), providing consistent technical support and relationship development.
Travel & Mobility
- Commit to extensive travel (typically 4–5 days per week) across Indonesia to support site assessments and project discussions.
Who Should Apply
Educational Background
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
Experience & Industry Knowledge
- 2 to 8 years of experience in technical sales, preferably within industrial or process engineering environments.
- Oil & Gas Exposure: Prior experience or familiarity with the oil and gas sector (handling relevant process equipment or clients) is considered a strong advantage.
- Sound technical understanding of manufacturing or industrial setups, specifically thermal systems and utility operations.

- Communication: Strong verbal and written skills with the ability to influence engineers, procurement teams, and key decision-makers.
- Commercial Acumen: Ability to translate technical requirements into commercially viable solutions.
