Job Description
Technical Project Manager, Data Centre
Based in Cikarang, West Java, Indonesia
Our client is an international data centre developer and operator providing core-to-edge infrastructure for network, content and cloud customers. It has a global platform, institutional and strategic backing, and a growing Southeast Asian presence, with this role focused on its Cikarang campus portfolio.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the full project lifecycle from planning, design and procurement through construction, commissioning, energisation and operational handover.
- Own master schedules, budgets, resource plans, governance, executive reporting, risk registers and recovery actions.
- Coordinate design reviews across electrical, mechanical, HVAC, civil, fire protection, security, information technology and operations disciplines.
- Manage EPC, design-and-build, construction management, consultant and vendor performance, including variations, claims, liquidated damages and performance guarantees.
- Direct delivery of critical infrastructure, including high-voltage / medium-voltage systems, transformers, generators, uninterruptible power supply systems, chillers, controls and utility interconnection.
- Oversee Level 1 to Level 5 testing and commissioning, integrated systems testing, failure mode and effects analysis validation, black building tests and reliability verification.
- Own Indonesian permitting and environmental compliance for the Cikarang portfolio, including AMDAL, PBG, PB, SLF, RKL-RPL, UKL-UPL and associated technical approvals.
- Lead community, government, utility and estate stakeholder engagement, then ensure compliant handover of permits, operating procedures, asset registers, training and operational-readiness documentation.
Key requirements
- Minimum 10 years experience in data centre construction, commissioning or hyperscale infrastructure project delivery.
- Proven delivery of large-scale Tier III or higher and / or hyperscale facilities of 50 MW or more in Southeast Asia.
- Strong mechanical and electrical engineering background, with hands-on knowledge of cooling, power, controls, fire protection and critical infrastructure systems.
- Experience with 150 kV grid intake, campus-scale developments, utility coordination, energisation strategy and power-system studies preferred.
- Demonstrated management of EPC, design-and-build and other complex contractor delivery models, including tendering, procurement, claims and commercial negotiations.
- Direct experience with Indonesian permitting processes, particularly AMDAL, PBG, PB and SLF, ideally in West Java, Bekasi or Cikarang.
- Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical or building services engineering; CDCP, PMP, Accredited Tier Designer or equivalent certification advantageous.
- Ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and manage senior stakeholders, consultants, contractors, authorities, utilities, communities and internal operations teams.
